PELOTONIE, The best of Cycling Photography

This unique photography exhibition introduced visitors to the work of three leading sports photographers—Markéta Navrátilová, Barbora Reichová, and Jan Brychta.

This unique photography exhibition introduced visitors to the work of three leading sports photographers—Markéta Navrátilová, Barbora Reichová, and Jan Brychta. Over fifty photographs of various formats were on display, the largest measuring over a meter in size. The images transported visitors to the Tour de France, the Peace Race, and other major cycling events. Markéta Navrátilová, known for her portrait, sports, and reportage photography, presented a selection spanning twenty-five editions of the iconic Tour de France. It was at this very race in 1992 that she first encountered photography. For many years, she was the only woman photographing cyclists from a motorcycle during the Tour de France.

Photographs by Barbora Reichová, the official photographer of Czech Olympians, were also featured. With a decade of experience in the media, she has documented major sporting events across the globe, including the NHL, NBA, Ice Hockey World Championships, and UEFA European Football Championship. She has photographed six Olympic Games and is a recipient of the Czech Press Photo award and a three-time winner of the Sports Photograph of the Year competition.

Completing the trio was Jan Brychta, whose name is closely associated with the Czech Cycling Federation. As an independent sports photographer and graphic designer, he regularly covers numerous professional and amateur cycling events. He has photographed every edition of the Peace Race U23, all national road and cyclocross championships since 2012, as well as several World and European Championships.

Adding to the atmosphere was a special racing bike from the prestigious Italian manufacturer Colnago: the C64 Gold Private Edition, of which only 64 were ever made. Just three made it to Europe, and one was on display at Artium. What makes it so special? A design featuring 24-karat gold details.
