About Us
A Place Where Art Meets People
Artium by KKCG
Where Art Meets PeopleWe're an innovative, freely accessible art space that bridges worlds, expands horizons, and connects isolated cultural spheres through unforgettable encounters. At Artium, we believe art and culture unite. From music to visual and performing arts, there's something for everyone. Just step in.
Our exhibition program is shaped by long-term artistic direction and developed in collaboration with experienced curators. Artium complements the story of the KKCG group, a story built on the ability to seize opportunities with courage and foresight. The same approach is offered to artists. Artium is a unique exhibition space that demands a thoughtful response — in the selection of works, their placement, and the form of presentation, including possible site-specific installations. All of this offers visitors fresh perspectives and exceptional experiences.
Štěpánka and Karel Komárek
Artium is housed in the headquarters of the investment and innovation group KKCG, founded by entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist Karel Komárek. Thanks to him and his wife, Štěpánka Komárková, several works by contemporary Czech artists are permanently installed in the building and its surroundings. Many others are regularly showcased through exhibitions, performances, and concerts. Inspired by the Komáreks, and made possible by their financial support, the Artium space is freely accessible to the public.
Through their family foundation—the Karel Komárek Family Foundation—the Komáreks support not only art and culture but also public space, education, social causes, and community development. Concerts held at Artium have charitable admission fees, with all proceeds going to support talented young musicians.

Art helps us see the world differently. It reminds us of where we come from and opens the way to a deeper understanding of ourselves. We want this richness to speak to everyone who enters—regardless of their background.

Unique Architecture
Artium is located within the headquarters of KKCG, in the Bořislavka Centrum office and retail complex, which consists of four buildings shaped like irregular natural forms – glass crystals.
This modern architecture, designed by Aulík Fišer Architects, integrates artworks by contemporary Czech artists both inside and outside the building. Architecture, art, and design coexist here in harmonious synergy.
In the public piazzetta stands a 7.5-meter sculpture titled Na horu ("Uphill") by Czech-Argentine artist Federico Díaz. The piece evokes the historic trade route that once passed through this area and was created using robotic fabrication technology by So Concrete. The use of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) allowed for the creation of a work that is both slender and monumental.
The entrance from Evropská Street is brought to life by another stainless-steel artwork titled Planeta ("Planet"), created by Jan Aulík, Leoš Horák, David Zalabák, and Pavel Filip. This water sculpture presents a view of the southern hemisphere of Earth at a scale of approximately 1:1,000,000, with water flowing over its surface symbolizing the oceans.
The entrance lobby is illuminated by The Iceberg, a glass sculpture by Lasvit, designed by its art director Maxim Velčovský. Composed of 110 crystal panels in sharply cut shapes, the artwork is set into a wooden perforated grid in the ceiling of the foyer. It is the largest piece by the Lasvit glassworks in the Czech Republic and one of its largest in the world.
Artium also features an epiphyte-like structure composed of 76 black locust trunks, planted with over 4,000 green and flowering plants. This garden installation, inspired by tropical rainforests, was designed by landscape architect Zdeněk Sendler in collaboration with the building’s architects.
