Guided tour of Step from Darkness
During the guided tour, you will gain insight into the creation of small-scale paintings and distinctive textile objects, all of which are linked by a sensitivity to personal experience, bodily memory, and the landscape of the Pošumaví region. The exhibition creates a space for slowing down, perceiving subtle rhythms, and understanding the process through which the personal becomes shared.

Miroslava Klesalová (*1985) is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, Studio of Graphic Arts 1, led by Doc. Dalibor Smutný, and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, Studio of Textile Design, led by MgA. Jitka Škopová. This visual artist works with soft materials, fabric, and paper. She is interested in the conceptual development of the principles of printmaking, its processuality and compactness, as well as symbolic language and its formation. She has long reflected on the theme of the cultural landscape, socially and economically constructed and modified. In doing so, she takes her personal experience into account, yet purposefully revises, amplifies, or downplays it, abstracting it and making it her own visual language. Her aesthetic is based on internal structure and logic, or rather, it is directed toward them, while challenging our own convictions about what this internal order is and how we project it into the world that surrounds us.
