Guided Tour - Intervals of Presence

What does a moment look like when we pause and truly perceive the space around us? And what traces do we leave behind – in people, in places, and in memory?

On Wednesday, June 11 at 5:00 PM, a guided tour of Kateřina Šťastná’s exhibition Intervals of Presence will take place, led by the artist together with curator Anna Pulkertová. The event will offer visitors deeper insight into the individual works as well as the creative process behind the site-specific installation created especially for the Artium space.

The exhibition further develops Kateřina Šťastná’s long-term exploration of the relationship between the human body, space, and the traces we leave behind. Monumental sculptures, reliefs, and textile embroideries come together in a cohesive installation that responds to the architecture, movement of visitors, light, and atmosphere of the space itself. Intervals of Presence is not a conventional exhibition, but rather an experience grounded in slowing down, perception, and the viewer’s physical presence.

Kateřina Šťastná is considered one of the distinctive young voices of the contemporary Czech art scene. In her work, she combines sculpture, relief, drawing, and delicate embroidery while continuously exploring how people unconsciously shape their surroundings – and, at the same time, how the environment shapes them in return.
