Dvořák Prague at Bořislavka

In cities like London, Berlin, Paris and other major metropolises, one is often surprised to see how many people attend evening concerts in everyday clothes – in fact, it’s usually most of them. The sheer size of these cities often doesn’t allow people to go home and change into formal wear before an evening event. But the opportunity to drop by a concert straight after work, without worrying about travel logistics, is something even people in Prague appreciate. And that’s exactly what our concerts at Artium at Bořislavka offer.
For this year’s Artium programme line – Innovation – we’ve selected young artists who have already proven and fully mastered their interpretative craft. Because meaningful innovation can only come from deep knowledge and command of one’s field. Young musicians need to be truly accomplished in their profession before they can explore interpretative experimentation, including bold repertoire choices.
Only from the vantage point of true artistic maturity can their creative exploration hope to have lasting impact. Mastery takes time. Innovation isn’t always about the end result – it can also lie in the journey that leads to the expression of a unique artistic vision. And this year’s performers in the Bořislavka programme are a shining example of just that – whether it’s the Ševčík Academy programme or the concert by students from Brno’s professional music schools.
All concerts are held for a charitable cause. Proceeds from ticket sales will support exceptionally talented young musicians.
